Mead Public Schools Bond Vote

The Mead Public Schools Board of Education has called a bond election for up to $18,990,000 to fund a new elementary school, site and infrastructure improvements, updates to existing district buildings, and the furniture and equipment needed for these facilities.

The bond would fund a new elementary building that will be connected to the Jr./Sr. High School, creating a single PK-12 campus. The new elementary building includes a dedicated and secure entrance, modern classrooms and library, a multipurpose space, storm shelter, and daycare to help meet an identified need for the community.

This deteriorated concrete pillar supports a critical structural crossbeam. Damage caused by repeated stormwater flooding required repairs based on a structural engineer’s recommendations. Without long-term solutions, required repairs like this will continue to be necessary.

Residential window air conditioning units are used to cool classrooms. They are noisy and do not maintain a consistent room temperature.  On hot days, the electrical load from these units strains the system so much that not all units can be run at the same time.
